(IntegrityWeather.com) — A northwest flow will continue to support an Alberta clipper pattern across the north central US through this week with at least a couple chances of accumulating snow.
By late week, troughing will become quite evident over the west CONUS with a sub-tropical jet flow leading to above normal precipitation over portions of the Plains and Ohio Valley.
The potential exists for a rather significant snow and ice event to unfold around January 23-25 from the Plains to the OH/TN valleys.
Further north, a strong area of high pressure will drive another arctic blast across the Midwest beginning Thursday night/Friday morning through the weekend.
