An upper-level ridge of high pressure is forecast to shift eastward from the west late this week, supporting warm air across parts of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois.
Higher confidence exists for a multi-day setup of high temperatures reaching or exceeding 90 degrees across portions of KS/MO, beginning Friday 5/15 and continuing through the weekend.
While organized episodes of severe weather appear possible during this timeframe, some uncertainty exists regarding specific timing and evolution of each system.
