(IntegrityWeather.com) — An upper-level ridge is forecast to develop over the upper Midwest later this week, promoting a trend toward below-average precipitation across the northern tier.
Meanwhile, persistent troughing across the western U.S. in conjunction with an active subtropical jet will shift the primary moisture axis toward the southern Plains and deep south.
This pattern shift should provide a favorable planting window for farm operations across much of the Midwest, though additional precipitation chances are anticipated during week 2/3.
