(IntegrityWeather.com) — An upper-level trough and attendant surface low has developed over Colorado this morning with a quick intensification expected.
As this happens, the main impulse of showers and thunderstorms will get underway by this afternoon into the evening extending through Thursday morning.
Once Thursday afternoon hits, some clearing and recovery should take place with the potential for scattered severe thunderstorms from central/east Iowa into Illinois.
The cold side of the setup will bring accumulating snow and freezing rain to portions of the Dakotas and Minnesota throughout the storm’s stay.

And no, this is not an April fool’s joke.
