(IntegrityWeather.com) — A strengthening southwesterly flow will fuel persistent showers and thunderstorms across areas of the Plains during the latter half of the weekend through the early portion of next week.
Today/Tonight:
Isolated to widely scattered strong thunderstorms are forecast to develop from southern Iowa/northern Missouri and into central Illinois capable of small to large hail through the evening.
Sunday/Monday:
An increased influx of scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms is expected to track across Missouri and Iowa, with isolated activity extending into Illinois.
The primary wave of moisture will then eject eastward into Illinois Sunday night and into Monday, before exiting the region Monday night into Tuesday.
Rainfall amounts should be most appreciable from Missouri into the eastern half of Iowa, with scattered areas of 0.50-1.50” anticipated.
