(IntegrityWeather.com) — Severe weather/heavy rain potential likely to return this weekend into early next week
Upper-level ridging is forecast to develop over the eastern conus by late week as a deep trough becomes established across the western US.
In response, a broad corridor of moist southwesterly flow will shift northward, supporting multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms across the Plains and Midwest.
This pattern is expected to intensify by the weekend, with severe weather initially focused on the southern Plains before spreading northeastward into the Midwest by Monday, April 13th.
On the backside of the system, additional wintry weather risks may develop across portions of the Dakotas and Minnesota.
Further refinements to the timing and evolution of individual systems will be provided in subsequent updates.
